Weekly Update - 11/21
We are open and looking for players from all backgrounds, experience and playtime. The only common trait we require is a sense of purpose towards playing this game for fun, achievement and finding a sense of accomplishment with your guildmates and team.
Many of the players at MT are some of the most active trainers on the server. From basic game mechanics to the most detailed nuances of racing and raiding - so anyone interested in adding tools to their belt or simply isolating a valuable role they seek to perfect, we have people willing to provide you that opportunity. There are numerous training videos we’ve created and people available to spend one-on-one time for any question.
Alternatively, if you have an hour or two a week to login, love having a laugh, killing a dragon and getting back to real life there isn’t a more fun place to pop in and feel like you made a difference.
Our goal with MT is not to create the best guild at killing dragons, or demand the most of our raiders. Our goal is to foster an environment and a culture that is about playing for the friends you’ve made online and provide a place you can feel respected as a person and accomplish any goals you have set out to achieve in Norrath.

Onto some of the cool kills of the last couple of weeks:

Lady Vox decided to wait all day and spawned in the last 90 minutes of the window, meaning there were about 15+ racers on the line from every guild. Quicken came in first, which was poetic, as while we were hanging out for the afternoon he showed us some of this original Seal Team Vox FTE’s from years past. We somehow managed to clean up what was likely the most trash I’ve ever seen at a Vox engage and kill the dragon with 9 total raiders. Pretty huge high to end the day on after a bit of a long sock.

We ended up grabbing two Vanikis this week as well to add some Willsappers to a few toons and we noticed how handsome our Ogre bodyguards are.

We swept all the Fear golems the last cycle, which was pretty fun. A lot of our players really enjoy Fear racing so we’ve been having a good time choosing that as a focus every three days. We had a kind of oddly timed Terror as well where it was just myself and Mccreary and we said ‘screw it, let’s go’ and he solo’d Terror while I kited the zone. A handful of wort clicks later and we made our ROI with a 2 man broodling.

Then last but not least, we finally caught a Vindi at a decent hour for us and managed to down it with 11 people total. It was definitely a grind, but the OBS are a hoot and show how amazing everyone in the guild has been at communicating, adapting and showing how much success can be found with a bunch of selfless friends.

Weekly Update - 11/9
Happy belated Halloween to all! The GM event is mid swing and we had a cool server wide PvP event to kick off draft week. In the end, across the whole server, the final three players were all Marginal Threat - who took a bow to rep the team.

Hats off to Quicken and Status coming down to the wire with the eventual champion…

During the past natural cycle we had some really fun kills and engages, including Lady Nev, Draco, Lady Vox, Terror and some other smaller targets. Each week we’re picking up more steam as people become more interested in playing together amongst friends, and the selfless environment we’ve tried to foster. Even some old friends and faces have returned to play which has resulted in some really awesome times.

We’ve been out here killing a few of the fun event spawns when we see them:

Congrats Wallfacer on his new cleric epic!

And Soomie on her epic as the future guild porter extraordinaire!

Another day another primal, grats Swisscheese!
Swisscheese achieved his first Primal ever. Everyone was excited for him!

Weekly Update - 10/27
An exciting first real cycle for us after being around for a short time. We got a surprise quake followed by an announced one this past Saturday and made short work of Zlandicar both times. Quite a good looking group I’d say.

We devoted resources and all pitched in to complete some last minute Sleeper’s Tomb keys so we have all of our essential pieces to assault the tomb and get our guildies some of those very valuable Primal weapons everyone talks about. Within a week we’ve already scored a Primal Warsword - grats to Banannie!

One of the cool things is that with our fresh start, everyone is in the running for some cool items for some pretty affordable prices. This may be a record this year for cheapest Primal.

We also went out and beat up ol’ Lady Vox, but alas no scale. Next time! Nothing better than seeing our bards get their epics. We hit up VP for some competitive dragons in there and finished the night with some classic content, Nagafen and ol’ Noble Djorno who had to face the return of Pyrobooze and Green server’s first Sceptre of Destruction.

We’ve also had Fubbon, our guild druid going around and helping some of our new toons get ‘buffed up and ready to go again’ (quicken voice). We’re looking forward to picking up more new members each week and assisting them where we can in the same way. The community is still always growing and we hope to share all the knowledge we have with interested and motivated people.

If you see this crazy ogre in the PoM forest, please steer clear - he’s a wild one!

Each week we’re improving our targets, gaining new players, familiar faces, momentum and looking forward to what the future has in store for us. Please consider joining us if you are looking for a place where friends hang, no question is a stupid one, and we can find ways to enjoy our free time in Norrath finding that magic from 1999 again.

First weekend at Marginal Threat
First weekend at <Marginal Threat> has been a ton of fun, more than expected honestly. We really are enjoying the humble start and challenges we are encountering. Recruitment is open and we are excited to play with old friends, new friends and everything in between.
We got some of our first toons tagged…

Some very sus looks…

What some people would love to be considered ‘infighting..’ if people got what they wanted.

But we preserved through it all! Had a great time in HoT getting a few great pieces like Plate Legs for Mozie and Leather for our guild druid.

Following that, we had an epic, but kind of easy low man Xygoz.

Here’s a few final parting shots for the records. It will be fun to remember these times in the next few years as we all push forward and kill tons of dragons together. I mean why else are we here? Pretty successful first weekend I’d say.

PS - Who cares what fear golems you win, as long as you win tracker fashion!

The wait is over – Marginal Threat is officially live!
After a week of hard work behind the scenes, we’re excited to announce that the basics are in place and ready to go. We’ve been moving at full speed to turn this vision into a reality, and while there’s still plenty to build, we’ve laid the groundwork for something special.
To all our friends we haven’t had a chance to catch up with – you’re invited! We’ve been focused on making this more than just an idea, and now it’s time for you to join us. Marginal Threat is all about creating a fresh start, a new environment, and the chance to play at a new level.
We welcome anyone who’s ready to dive in and help shape what we’re building here.
Welcome
Marginal Threat was founded to bring together players who actually want to play — people who log in ready to contribute, collaborate, and enjoy the game without drama, ego, or dead weight.
We value effort over entitlement. This guild is built on respect for each other’s time, a shared sense of purpose, and the belief that every member should have a role — and take pride in it. If you’re in the raid, be engaged. If you’re learning content, ask questions. If you’ve done it before, help teach — but don't coast. Competing with integrity will be paramount.
This is EverQuest — it should still feel like an adventure. There’s no mandatory raid attendance. No dues. No bullshit. Just show up when you can, be present, and be part of the push. We respect that people have real lives — school, work, raccoon hours — but when you’re online, you’re part of the team. At the end of the day, Marginal Threat is here to game with gamers who want to game.
We're building a space where contribution, curiosity, and camaraderie matter more than meters or medals. If that clicks with you, then welcome aboard. Let’s cause a little trouble. Together.
